What is Havdalah?
Havdalah means separation. It is the short ceremony made on Motzei Shabbos, once three stars appear, over wine, fragrant besamim, and a braided candle, marking the end of Shabbos and the start of the new week.
What are the three items used for Havdalah?
The three items are a becher (cup) of wine or grape juice, a besamim (spice) holder, and a braided Havdalah candle, usually gathered on a tray. Feldart offers each piece and complete sets.
Can a woman make Havdalah?
Customs vary. In many homes Havdalah is made by a man for the household, while other poskim permit a woman to make it for herself when needed. Follow your family's minhag or ask your rav.
