FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What lucite serving pieces does Feldart make?
Water pitchers, swivel dip dishes, salad bowls, cake log holders, cutlery holders, honey dishes, simanim trays and napkin rings, priced from $14 to $119. Most come in coordinated lines so pieces match across the table.
Can you use dish soap to clean lucite?
Yes. Mild dish soap, lukewarm water and a soft cloth are all you need. Avoid the dishwasher, very hot water, and cleaners with ammonia or alcohol, which can cloud acrylic.
Does lucite yellow over time?
Good quality clear acrylic stays clear for years indoors. Yellowing is mostly a problem with low-grade plastics and long exposure to direct sun, so store pieces out of strong sunlight.
Does lucite scratch easily?
It is softer than glass, so it can scratch if scrubbed with abrasive pads or if metal pans slide across it. Clean with a soft cloth, and serve with utensils rather than cutting directly on the surface.
Can lucite serveware hold hot food?
Lucite is best for cold and room temperature foods like salads, dips, cake and fruit. Do not use it in the oven or microwave, and do not pour boiling liquids into it.
